چکیده

We generalize the ham sandwich theorem to d+1 measures in R as follows. Let μ1, μ2, . . . , μd+1 be absolutely continuous finite Borel measures on R. Let ωi = μi(R ) for i ∈ [d + 1], ω = min{ωi; i ∈ [d + 1]} and assume that ∑d+1 j=1 ωj = 1. Assume that ωi ≤ 1/d for every i ∈ [d + 1]. Then there exists a hyperplane h such that each open halfspace H defined by h satisfies μi(H) ≤ ( ∑d+1 j=1 μj(H))/d for every i ∈ [d + 1] and ∑d+1 j=1 μj(H) ≥ min(1/2, 1 − dω) ≥ 1/(d + 1). As a consequence we obtain that every (d+1)-colored set of nd points in R such that no color is used for more than n points can be partitioned into n disjoint rainbow (d− 1)-dimensional simplices.

The Nevanlinna Theorem of the Classical Theory of Moments Revisited

The canonical solutions of the truncated Hamburger moment problem (both in the classical and degenerate cases) are found. The Nevanlinna theorem which provides the noncanonical solutions of the truncated Hamburger problem is also rederived in the framework of the operator approach.

Markov’s Theorem Revisited

The fact that Markov’s Theorem holds for determinate measures is often overlooked and the theorem is stated for measures with compact support as did Markov. We shall give a brief survey of the history of the theorem as well as a proof in the determinate case. We also prove a version of Markov’s theorem in the indeterminate case. The results are applied to the shifted moment problem. 0. Introduc...

Prevalence of Staphylococcus Aureus Isolated from Hamburger Samples in Tehran and their Antibiotic Susceptibility

Introduction:Staphylococcal food poisoning is one of the most common food-borne diseases. The antibiotic resistance of Staphylococcus aureus has been reported globally. Today, strains of Staphylococcus aureus in food have become a problem in clinical infections and are considerde as a serious public health concern. Methods: A total of 100 samples were tested in the laboratory; including 75 han...

On the Analytic Form of the Discrete Kramer Sampling Theorem

The classical Kramer sampling theorem is, in the subject of self-adjoint boundary value problems, one of the richest sources to obtain sampling expansions. It has become very fruitful in connection with discrete Sturm-Liouville problems. In this paper, a discrete version of the analytic Kramer sampling theorem is proved. Orthogonal polynomials arising from indeterminate Hamburger moment problem...

Detection of Chicken Meat Adulteration in Raw Hamburger Using Polymerase Chain Reaction

Background: Detection of food adulteration is an important issue from aspects of food control and food regulation. This study aimed to detect adulteration of chicken meat in raw hamburger using species specific Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR). Methods: Raw hamburgers including 42 handmade and 48 industrial samples were collected from 90 restaurants and supermarkets. Following genomic DNA extra...

Determination of an optimum level of fish protein isolate as a fat replacer in low fat hamburger development using QDA and PCA analaysis

The aim of this study was to determine the optimum level of fish protein isolate (FPI) as a fat replacer for the production of a low fat hamburger using Quantitative Descriptive Analysis (QDA) and investigating some of the functional characteristics of the product. For this purpose, FPI was developed from yellowfin tuna fish (Thunnus albacares) canning by-product using pH-shift method. On the o...
